The CADRE Student Organization and the CADRE Laboratory for New Digital Media have worked together to prepare an installation for Maker Faire 2024 in Vallejo, California. Brought to you by Student Organization President John Joseph Santos as well as Steve Durie, DMA Faculty and Student Club Advisor, we are excited to bring a variety of new projects this year! This includes a partnership between CADRE S.O. as well as artwork from other students from the Digital Media Art Program at San Jose State.
Brought to you by CADRE Student Organization members, Minh Le and Danny Dao, Blot Room is an innovative art installation that uses projection technology to create an interactive visual experience. The visuals will respond and change based on the number of people present in the space. This immersive piece is designed to be accompanied by various types of music and will feature a specially created song specifically for the project.
The Light Box Collection is a collaborative project by CADRE S.O. members. The piece comprises nine illuminated laser-cut shadow boxes. Each box is composed of multiple layers of laser cut papercraft that is illuminated with a mesmerizing glow. The collection is interactive and reacts to the presence of onlookers, and as a result, the boxes change colors and brightness over time.
The Game Development Club at SJSU is bringing new games and prototypes. This will include games just launching on
Steam as well as games fresh from their latest Game Jams. They make games with the University and the general community.
